Work is underway on stronger, yet simpler designed LED License Lamps

This is the output of the OEM license plate lamp with stock incandescent bulb

Here is the output from a modified license plate lamp, crudely held by my hands, with a single
high power 8mm LED. Experiments will be conducted to try and minimize the hotspot and
spread out the light output a bit.


Compared to the previous picture with the 8mm LEDs, much has changed since April of 2005, when
I created the monstrosity above. Despite the ugliness and presumed poor longevity, this lamp still
functions as expected - July 2006. See the pictures.
